Chinese Yellow Ginger
Grow your own edible ginger root indoors! Harvested while young, the rhizomes will be more tender and juicier than grocery store ginger, with a slightly milder flavor. The outer skin will rub right off. Leaves and stocks are also edible and are good in teas and cooked dishes.
This is a great outdoor plant for South Florida and Southern California, but needs a greenhouse or a southern sunny window in most of the country. It likes high humidity and appreciates daily misting. USDA Zones 10-12.
