QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Will the dapple dandy pluot and the beauty Asian plum cross pollinate?

Yes, they will cross pollinate in most regions, in most years. Weather and available pollinators can be factors in areas with rainy spring seasons.

  • Will a Dandy and Supreme Pluot pollinate each other? I definitely want a Dandy and/or a Supreme what would a good pollinator for it and the other tree?

Yes, they should pollinate each other. The universal pollinator for all plouts are Santa Rosa plums.

  • A couple of your mixed variety pluots do not recommend them for western Washington. Are there any pluots suitable for western Washington (Cathlamet - zone 8)

Sweet Treat is the one pluot that is reliable grown outdoors are the nursery (to ripen it's fruit). You will need a pollinator, of which many Asian plum and other plouts will do, but other pluots are unlikely to fully ripen outside of a greenhouse.

  • Which pollinizer should i buy for DAPPLE DANDY PLUOT?

Weeping Santa Rose is best, but other Asian plums like Hollywood and Beauty can work too

  • How far apart should I plant multiple semi-dwarf plouts?

    14-16 foot centers

  • I see the santa rosa plumb is used as a universal pollinator but can find it on the website. Is there another one that can be used?

We usually carry Weeping Santa Rosa for warmer climates, but other asian plums like Beauty and Hollywood will also work.

  • I bought one of theses from you 9 years ago. Initially it produced a few delicious fruit, but in the last 4-5 years no fruit.I had an apricot tree that died, and I suspect that was the pollinator. I bought a Japanese plum to pollinate it, but the plum blooms too late. What tree will pollinate dapple Dandy? I live in Oregon City ,OR.

Santa Rosa plum is the parent and universal pollinator for all the complex plum crosses.
