This particular plant is renowned for its stunning single dark purple flowers which bloom in the latter part of spring, and midseason compared to other lilac varieties. Introduced by Weston Nurseries Inc. in 1991; discovered as an open-pollinated seedling. These flowers possess a potent scent and are highly appealing to butterflies and bees. As a deciduous plant, its leaves are dark green but change to a vibrant yellow in the autumn.
The lilac bush has the potential to reach heights of 8-10 feet and widths of 6-8 feet.
