QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • This one is self fertile, does it mean I need to buy two different kinds of walnut trees?

No, it means you only need to buy 1 tree and it will set nuts!

  • Do you sell any older trees? I'm 65 and wanting one for my self sustainable farm.

We do not due to transplant failure problems.

  • Can Franquette be eaten raw?

Sure, once you get it out of it's shell!

  • are there any other walnut trees that produce sooner than 10 years

No. If you want nuts sooner, you can interplant hazelnuts between your walnuts for a yield in roughly 5 years while the walnuts grow to maturity.

  • How many years before this size of plant bears nuts?

    Roughly 10+ years

Bareroot walnuts

The two Franquette walnuts arrived in succulent condition, and packed very well.
I planted them after soaking in water for a few hours. After 10 days they started to leaf out and look like they will survive and grow! Thank you Raintree!
