Golden Nectar Asian Plum
Prunus salicina x 'Golden Nectar'
The long, hot summers of our Southern growers deserve Golden Nectar! Famous for its complex melon and honey flavors, and hint of gardenia aroma, the fruit is large, yellow, heart-shaped and freestone. Enjoy this lush dessert plum dried or fresh.
A seedling of the Mariposa plum (also a hot weather lover), it ripens in August in California and needs more summer heat to ripen than regularly occurs in the Pacific Northwest. The tree is productive, self fruitful, and needs only 500 hours of chilling.
