Eleagnus multiflora 'Sweet Scarlet'

Be ready to enjoy loads of nutritious, tasty scarlet berries from this hardy bush! This Ukrainian variety was selected for fruit production by Kiev Botanic Garden. Goumi fixes nitrogen that it will share with neighbors, so it's great as a hedgerow plant as well as in an area that will support its round, upright and rustic shape. Thousands of soft yellow, bell-shaped flowers in April are intensely fragrant and great bee forage, too!

Very versatile - will grow and fruit in sun or shade, but fruit production is better with more sun. Disease resistant, and no known pests bother this rugged bush.

Sweet Scarlet Goumi

Of the three plants I received in my order, this was the one that received the damage. The damage was not from packing, but mishandling. It was minimal, so I went ahead and planted it as there were already buds looking for a new home. The Lemon Guava and the Hungarian Seedless Grape are doing well after planting.

I planted this right away and have two other bareroot goumis from a different nursery that were planted at the same time and are showing green. I ordered this one because the first one I bought from Raintree has been doing great for years

Great Goumi tree!

My goumi tree in NE OH has produced large crops every year for at least 10 years despite being an only tree and in the shade. Very impressed!
