A late-blooming (for an apricot), early ripening, self-fertile apricot that has proven itself in warm regions of our maritime Pacific Northwest and in most of the nation. It is another introduction from the Harrow Research Station in Ontario, Canada. The firm sweet, flavorful fruit is medium to large and a deep orange color with a red blush.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Also, which varieties would do best in a full-partial sun area? Thanks!

Apricots do not ripen in partial shade, they need all the sun they can get.

  • Which apricot varieties do you offer that are the most cold hardy and do well even with potential late spring frosts? Thanks!

Puget Gold and Harglow are the best for that scenario.

  • When does it bloom? and How many chill hours ?

Harglow does best with 800+ chill hours and blooms late for an Apricot (the exact time will depend on your location).

still waiting

It’s been more than a week since the tree arrived, and was planted and it still not showing any signs of life. I am holding out that maybe that will change, but it does not look viable.

order received

My order was received in apparent good condition. It is not leafed out yet, but has been planted in the ground. I'll have to see how it does through the summer.

Harlow apricot

My harglow apricot has been in the ground for two weeks (since the day it arrived) now and I fear that it may be dead. I ordered a cosmic crisp apple that arrived at the same time and it is busy leafing out, but still just bare twigs on my apricot. I have a couple of established apricot trees that are leafed out and in bloom. I'm still holding out hope but it's not looking good for this little tree. Fingers crossed...

Just came this week - excellent packaging

I am very excited to try this apricot, especially since it is supposed to bloom a little later and may do better with our late frosts. The packaging was excellent, it was combined very well with the rest of my order.
