QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Is this a spur bear or tip bearer?

    Spur bearing.

  • Based on the Asian Pear Growing Guide, ICHIBAN ripens early. But, what is the Blooming time? We get late frost (late March- early April) and no matter how good the tree is we never get any fruit (some years we get some). Could you please also add a Blooming Chart as you do for European Pears?

Asian pears all bloom at roughly the same time, some earlier but they all overlap, so that isn't the problem - the problem is compatibility which can vary from region to region making charts unreliable as a whole. The Asian pears we carry are compatible with each other in the Pacific Northwest.

My Asian pear tree

I received my pear tree in good condition, but I missed the fact that it requires a pollinator before I planted it. So I am not sure what I should do.
