A tall and well-shaped Northern Highbush selection, it has excellent ornamental value. Requires 800-1000 chill hours to successfully set fruit. Will produce more fruit with a different variety as a pollinizer.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Is this the blueberry with the beautiful red, yellow and burgundy coloring in the fall? I have a Jersey that I planted many years ago that is beautiful now, but I want to be sure it is not a fluke before I buy another one.

    It certainly does.

  • Does the Jersey blueberry cross pollinate with spartan or blueray blueberries? Is there a resource to know which blueberry varieties cross-pollinate with one another?

Our Blueberry Growing Guide goes over it, but generally all non-rabbit eye blueberries will cross pollinate with other non-rabbit eye blueberries. Conversely rabbit eye blueberries only cross pollinate with other rabbit eye blueberries. Hope that helps!

  • Is it possible to order plants on the larger size? How big will typical blueberry types you show, such as Elliot, Olympia, Chandler, and Jersey be when sent to Seattle? Should I preorder? How will I know when shipment happens. Looking for two blueberry plants, as big as possible (hoped-for growth to 5-7 feet) for a very sunny site on the front of my Seattle home.

Depending on the season there may be plants up to 32" tall available for bareroot shipping in 2023. The roots for a plant 5'-7' tall would be impractal to dig and ship and the plant would likely not survive the transplanting process. Blueberries in gallon pots can be shipped as early as this fall, or can be picked up even right away from the nursery if arrangements are made in advance.
