Kit Donnell Peach

This peach is a recent creation of the California Rare Fruit Growers' Hybridizer Group, a group dedicated to reviving the classic fruit flavors of the past. It is named after the late Kit Donnell, former chairperson for the Santa Clara Valley, CA chapter of the CRFG. At 700 chill hours, it's easy for find the right place for this wonderful introduction.
Although new, this peach has many old-fashioned peach characteristics - a yellow freestone with little red coloration, powerful sweet/tart flavor and juicy texture. It's also very productive and the fruits are often of great size. It is an ideal peach for eating fresh, canning, pies and preserves.
