Also known as VVA 1. Plums and apricots grown on this Russian dwarfing rootstock have proven precocious. Spotty compatibility with peaches/nectarines. An excellent choice for home orchardists, the rootstock produces a tree about half the size of standard and it has shown excellent results when grown in heavy soils, acid or alkaline. Very little suckering observed.

All rootstocks are roughly 1/4" diameter, approximately pencil-size.

    Depends on the container and the tree. Generally, it is preferred over larger rootstocks, but most trees will need special care to live in a container for their whole life. 

  • Will this ship this fall?

    No, these will ship in the spring season.

  • Does the krymsk 1 produce a smaller tree than the Marianna?

    Not significantly, no.
