Leccino Olive
Oleo europa 'Leccino'
Now you can grow the olives they grow in Italy! Leccino is one of the primary cultivars used in Italian olive oil production; best known for its Tuscan origin and delicate flavor profile. While it originated in Tuscany, it is now grown all over the world and has proven itself in California and the Southwest.
Many mild winter gardeners will grow the bush for its evocative, silver/green leaves that persist all year, without attempting to ripen the fall berries that would be pressed into oil or cured for the table. Gardeners in colder zones can bring the pruned, potted tree indoors for the winter and enjoy the atmosphere of the Mediterranean all year round!
