Lucy™ Glo Apple
Malus domestica
Lucy™ Glo apples are a specialty Rosaceae hybrid that is medium to large in size, with a diameter of 7-10cm. They have a round-conical shape with flat shoulders, a broad middle, and a tapered narrow base. The apple's thin and taut skin is golden yellow, sometimes with pale green undertones, and features prominent pale lenticels with a blush of red from the sun's rays. What makes this apple unique is that you can see the pigmented flesh through the thin skin, creating a variegated, multi-colored look. The flesh inside the apple is marbled with rosy, pinky, and white hues and has a semi-granular, crisp, snap-like consistency. Each apple has its own fleshy pattern and coloring, and a moderately-sized core filled with tiny black-brown seeds. Flavor-wise, Lucy™ Glo apples start off tart, but the taste completes with a sweet-tangy finish.
