Male Musk Strawberry

The musk strawberry is a species of strawberry native to Europe. The plants are hardy and can survive in both cold winters and hot summers, but dislike warm, humid conditions. Musk strawberries are cultivated commercially on a small scale, particularly in Italy. While male plants do not produce fruit, their flowers are necessary for the pollination of the female, fruit-producing plants. This variety, originally sourced from the national Germplasm Repository in Corvallis, OR, blooms at the same time as Profumata females.

One male plant will provide pollination for up to five female plants, which will increase fruit harvest substantially. Sold in a 4" pot.
