Monsieur Hatif de Montmorency is a truly excellent culinary European plum. Fragrant, with a rich and complex flavor, it is a roundish, large, freestone purple plum with golden-yellow flesh that ripens in August. Also known as Early Orleans, it is an old variety brought from France to England over 300 years ago and on to the United States.
