Prunus persica 'Nanaimo'

Nanaimo is a fantastic freestone, cold hardy, and self-fertile peach hailing from Vancouver Island in Canada. While peaches are typically challenging to grow in cooler climates like the Pacific Northwest, Nanaimo thrives and ripens reliably year after year producing up to 50lbs of peaches annually!

Incredibly resistant to peach leaf curl and amazingly productive, Nanaimo peaches are gorgeous red when ripe, with sweet-and-tasty orange flesh. Hardy to below -20F, with fruit ripening in the mid-season.

Hardy to USDA Zone: 5

Mature Height: 10-12 ft. in height.

Sun: Full Sun

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Hi, hope all is well. I have a small garden total about 6,000SQF. We located in Vancouver WA. I'm not experienced with fruit trees. Could you please advise on some of the fruit trees that suits my zone and relatively easy to take care? I would love to have cherry, peach, apple, pear, grapes. Since my yard is not too big, I would like to maximize the types of fruit if possible. Does self-fertile mean I only need one tree to produce fruit? Such as the Nanaimo Peach and the White Gold Cherry? If I pre-order now, can I schedule a pick-up in the Spring 2023? Thank you for your help.

You will need a horticulture consultation to answer all those questions - check out our help section to schedule one. Pre-orders can be scheduled for pick-up in 2023.

  • Hi, I was wondering if this variety comes in a semi dwarf size? If so, when do I order? Thanks so much! Kristen

The dward and semi dwarf stocks for peaches are very similar in size. Pre-orders can be made when available.

  • Where are you located. Do you have Nanaimo peach trees or frost peach trees

Morton, WA. We will early spring of next year. Make sure you pre-order July 1st if you want a Nanaimo as they sell quickly.

Happy Peach Tree

My peach arrived in good shape. It was a good sturdy size. I followed all the useful how-to videos provided by Raintree to get my tree planted correctly. I submitted a question to the Raintree Plant Ambassador and got a quick and thorough response. It has been a week and a half since planting and the buds are already starting to leaf out. I am very happy and plan to order more trees and plants from Raintree in the future. I have also recommended Raintree to my plant-loving co-workers.

Unbelievable size

This peach tree is five times as big as any other I've ordered from different places. It seemed way older; the trunk was as big around as my shovel handle, it's quite tall and has lots of branches. It's still dormant but seems healthy - none of the branches are shriveled. Thanks, Raintree !
