Vaccinium corymbosum 'Northcountry'

This variety has a high chill hour requirement and a semi-dwarf growth habit. It consistently produces medium-sized, sweet and mild berries, ripening one week earlier than 'Northblue'. Its summer foliage is a deep green color, while its fall foliage transforms into a fiery red hue. This is an ideal selection for landscaping purposes.

Too soon to tell

It was a long trip for my blueberry bushes to SE Ohio, so they were somewhat crushed on arrival, with browning on some leaves. I put them in 15-gallon pots immediately (easier to control acidity than in the ground), and we'll see how they do. They were rather root-bound -- hard to loosen. Yet they were smaller than expected. I'd bought two of the Northblue variety from a different nursery as you didn't have any, and they were much more mature for a similar price. But I'm hopeful that the Northcountry variety will do well in time.
