Eucalyptus neglecta, or Omeo Gum, is a small tree species found only in Victoria, Australia. It's fast-growing, winter hardy, and easy to grow. The tree thrives in wet soil and is among the smaller eucalyptus species. Its rounded leaves and purplish blue new growth make it a stunningly beautiful tree. The Omeo Gum has unique adaptability, growing in both hot, dry deserts and humid, wet areas, withstanding waterlogged soil and a bit of shade. It's a gorgeous tree in both its youth and mature form, and it deserves to be more widely planted in regions where temperatures don't drop below 0ºF.
