QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • How many plants would be needed to fill in a hedge 60’ long? And do these thrive in coastal environments?

Roughly 1 plant per 2 feet. They do spread, but are small to start.

  • Will they thrive in a east facing bank with lots of clay?

Probably yes. Rugosa is a very tough plant that spreads aggressively and should adapt to your site given a short time.

  • How wide do these roses grow? Can I plant them this fall?

As wide as they can spread and while they can be planted in the fall, they won't be shipped until spring.

Some room for improvement

My shipment was delayed twice by UPS (not Raintree's fault), but due to excellent packing they still arrived safe and alive. The description says 'plant' but does not specify bareroot, which would've been handy for prepwork. Otherwise they are the right length, if a bit thin. Time will tell if they grow well. For a first purchase it wasn't too bad. Shipping is high, but they have plants I can't find elsewhere.
