The intensely sweet yet complex flavor of darling Rubinette, a cross between Golden Delicious and Cox's Orange Pippin, will please fans of the Cox crosses - and everyone else! Loads of incredibly delicious, small-medium, attractive dessert apples, golden with red stripes, ripen late - in early October in the PNW.

This patented scab and mildew-resistant Swiss cultivar is a favorite of organic growers in Europe, where it is grown commercially. Blooms mid-season, category 3.

  • Is the rubinette resistant to cedar-apple rust?

    No, it is a Golden Delicious hybrid with no real disease resistance bred into it.

  • My Rubinette is over 5 years since plalnting. It blooms but fails to produce lateral limbs and many flowers and never fruit or the few fruit falls early. It is discouraging . Is this the nature of this apple tree ? SHould I invest in another?

    It sounds like your tree needs some pruning to encourage lateral branching and fruit spur development. Contact our horticulturist thorugh our Help Center for more detailed information.

  • Would this be a good pollinator for Honeycrisp?

    As a mid season bloomer, yes!

best taste ever

A couple years ago we were able to tour Raintree in the fall and got to taste ALL the apples. Rubinette was our favorite- complex sweet/ tart, crisp....can't wait til our tree is bearing.

Little cuties is what they are!

Got my plants and planted them the same day. The next day I go out and they are already starting to show little growths on the tips. SO CUTE!!

An apple trere that is FULLY BRANCHES out - GOOD SIZE

I was happy to receive a new semi-dwarf RUBINETTE APPLE TREE last week that was UP TO SIZE and fully branches out, and also had a good root system .... it is planted and buds are breaking forth on all of the branches.. (I'd received some "too small" for the price / advertised size of PEAR TREES over the past couple of years (now have 20 of your pear trees in my orchard...), so happy to see that you are now sending out UP TO SIZE trees, after buying Raintree from former owners, and getting it back to what we customers all expect ... THANKS .
