Russian Sochi Tea
Camellia sinensis 'Sochi'
Tea plants, originally native to China and Southeast Asia, are very important plants for humans worldwide. The green and black tea drinks made from drying and/or fermenting the leaves have been consumed for thousands of years; today, tea is the second most-consumed beverage in the world! Additionally, its habitual consumption has long been associated with health benefits against a wide array of diseases and conditions.
Our variety is propagated from seed gathered at tea plantations in Sochi, Russia along the Black Sea, the northernmost area where tea is grown commercially. This variety is the most cold-tolerant variety available.
