This English rugosa makes an excellent 5 foot tall, spreading hedge or an outstanding specimen plant. The large 5 inch purple/pink flowers with bold anthers keep blooming for months. The carefree shrub is loaded in the fall with large flavorful fleshy hips that look like cherry tomatoes.

  • Do you have a planting guide for this plant or can you direct me to a plant with similar requirements? Could I put this plant in a large container the first year while I test the light in an area of my property where winter storms changed the amount of light possible?

    Scabrosa spreads aggressively in nearly all conditions. It prefers sun, but will spread into shade as well.
