QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Does this cross pollinate with a Comice?

Yes! These are good to go with each other!

  • Would the Bartlett pear be a good pollinizer for the Seckel European pear tree? Thanks in advance…

The Bartlett is in early season and the Seckle is a late season bloomer. The Seckle pear will require a late or mid-season pollinator. I recommend the Rescue pear as a wonderful substitution for the Bartlett. The Rescue is a mid-season bloomer.

  • Will this cross pollinate with Shipova Pear

    Yes, they should cross pollinate

  • How old are the 4-5 foot trees?

    3 years old when shipped.

Disappointed

My Seckel pear arrived with numerous cracked and broken branches that appeared to have been damaged before being shipped. Raintree's answers to my queries have not addressed the issue and they keep asking for more photos, although I have already sent them photos of the damage. Disappointing. I have received a quince tree in the past that was damaged, a crack right down the crotch of the tree. I will say they were quick to send
a replacement, but I am wondering why the damage on both these trees was not noticed before they were shipped.

First Quarter

3 months in and this tree is growing very well, very healthy. It came with gorgeous roots. I look forward to more progress through the seasons. *6b, very hot dry summer, very windy in all seasons
