September Orchard & Planting Workshop
Join us for an early Autumn Orchard and Planting workshop hosted by Raintree Nursery, in partnership with the WSU Lewis County Master Gardener Program.
Event Details:
When: Saturday, September 12, 10:30am – 12:30pm
Where: Raintree Nursery, 408 Butts Rd, Morton, WA
Cost: Free — but space is limited to 30 people, and registration is required
Led by Jason Adams, Director of the WSU Lewis County Master Gardener program, and Theresa Knutsen, long-time Horticulturist & Propagation specialist at Raintree Nursery.
- Harvesting & Storing Fruit — how to know when it's ready, and how to keep it that way
- Orchard Floor Management — what's happening under your trees matters as much as what's happening in them
- Fall Tree Health & Disease ID — Jason will lead this one, showing you what to look for before winter sets in
-
Fall Planting — how to make the most of your Fall planting window
We'll have a limited selection of potted plants available to purchase that day, as well as assistance with placing an order for the upcoming Fall potted plant season.
A few things to know before you come: This is a working nursery, not a manicured garden — wear sturdy shoes and clothes you don't mind getting a little dusty. Bring a water bottle and sunscreen. And every attendee will need to sign a liability waiver to join the walk.
These free workshops tend to fill fast, so if you'd like a spot, don't wait.
