Sochi Dwarf Pomegranate
Punica granatum 'Sochi'
A super-compact pomegranate shrub - and super-hardy too! The large orange/red blooms begin in early summer and continue for months, while the inedible, burgundy fruit appears in autumn and dangles invitingly as winter sets in. Prefers plenty of summer heat.
Pomegranates' bright foliage and beautiful orange flowers make them a stunning landscape plant. They grow well in the Pacific Northwest and much of the nation. Especially fun to grow them as a multi-stemmed bush in a pot and bring them inside to enjoy the beauty of the decorative fruit during the holidays.
