This beauty is a winner for American home orchardists.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Will you have the Mini-Dwarf tree in spring 2025? I just have a small space and can manage a shorter tree better. Thank you

You can sign up to be notified, and you will receive an email as soon as more are available. We typically update our Spring inventory in January.

  • Of these 2 cherry trees, which has a firmer, crispy fruit Prunus avium 'Tehranivee' or Prunus avium 'Black Gold' ? Thank you

Tehranivee would have a firmer fruit.

  • We purchased a Tehranivee on G3 back in 2015. It has always borne a delicious heavy crop until this year. This year some are perfect, but others haven't ripened and are small. We finally picked them all. Also, I can't get the tree to grow much more than 5' at best. I've tried raising branches but they mostly hang. Can I cut back branches? It seems like all the bearing is at the tips, leaves as well, and I'm afraid if I cut it back I'll end up with dead branches and no leaves.

5' feet tall is the mature size of the G3 rootstock, so that's why it won't grow taller. G3 stocks are small and not vigorous, so you may need to irrigate more frequently to keep up with the hotter weather. You should feel free to prune back the branches as far as halfway to promote more flowering.

  • I'm on the edge of zone 8 and 7. How is this with fungus issues? Please

Cherry trees in general are very susceptible to fungal diseases.

  • What size are these shipped at?

    4'-5' tall when shipped.

  • What color are the blooms?

    White!

  • What are the chill hours?

    800+ for best results.

Perfect Mini Dwarf

Our mini Tehranivee is now in its third year. It's in full sun, heavy clay soil in the Wilamette Valley, OR and is unbeatable for flavor, tree health, and no cracking of the fruit. As soon as they're restocked, we plan to order another larger tree, the cherries are just that good.

Vigorous, healthy, and recommended!

My Tehranivee arrived about two weeks ago. Shipping was impressively quick! It arrived as healthy looking whip. It seems vigorous, the leaves have already sprouted out of their buds. Very happy with this little tree, and really look forward to the cherries!

Super Pleased!

We ordered 3 trees at once from Raintree Nursery- our first time ordering from them. The trees came packaged nicely and within a coupe days of planting, already have buds and flowers. Will definitely use Raintree Nursery again!
