Pyrus communis 'Ubileen'

Start the season off right with Ubileen! A large, sweet, aromatic, pear from Bulgaria, with yellow skin and a pretty red blush when fully mature. The flavorful flesh is fine textured and buttery. It is harvested in early August and top rated among thousands of pears from around the world at the USDA national pear Germplasm Repository in Corvallis, Oregon.

Ubileen is both a very early bloomer (bloom category 1), and one of the first pears to ripen each season. Early testing appears to show good resistance to fireblight.

  • Hello Raintree!! Would you, by any chance, have any Ubileen on OHxF97 roots? (I'm trying to match the size of my Shin Li on Calleryana roots. 15-20ft) Thanks in advance!

Good question! Not currently. We do offer the rootstock however.

Year 4 and it really produced!

Low maintenance approach resulted in deer nibbles and long dry Seattle area summers without any extra watering to speak of. This year we got about 10 nice sized, beautiful pears with amazing texture and absolute gourmet aroma. Having to think real hard about who to share them with, because I want em all to myself!
