Actinidia polygama 'Vera's Pride'

Vera's Pride™ is a visually appealing female kiwi variety that produces substantial, delicious, pale orange fruit. It is also characterized by abundant, fragrant, white flowers and striking, frosted white patches on the rich, green, young leaves. The fruit has a unique, "spicy" finish to the flavor that other kiwis don't display. Also unique to A. polygama varieties is an unusual quality to their wood that makes it very compelling to cats - it contains a compound like catnip that over 80% of cats can safely enjoy.

The dainty-looking vines are exceptionally cold hardy, surviving lows down to -40F! Disease-resistant and tolerant of partial shade, this vine is an unusual delight.

Plant dating

The box was broken at the end and pots were falling out(don't forget to take pictures of everything when it arrives) the plants were well wrapped though and safe inside the box. After pulling them out and watering them I noticed some damage on the one (I'll call her Vera- clever name huh?) that had the most leaves (A whole vine full of leaves!) Near the base of the vine where it meets the dirt was the damage. It seems to be doing ok now, after Vera lost some of her leaves from the stress of moving (the damage at her base has not effected her growth). Her younger sibling Kitty (Same plant type, I bought them for my cats) has been struggling since arriving. she only has a few tiny leaves at her base, I am still (after the 7 day period) worried I'm going to lose her. Love them anyways and will order from Rain Tree again for Sure!!! Also..

5 stars, because Vera needs a date and Rain Tree I know is tediously going through the males to find the perfect match for her... hopefully to find the right one before the end of the growing season here!
