Prunus domestica 'Gras Romanesc'

The distinctive blue skin blushed with grey, and the sweet, rich, yellow, clingstone flesh of the revered German plum selection, also called Herrenhausen, has been popular since the late 19th century. Late ripener and good keeper, with the sugars intensifying during storage.

Trees are vigorous and very productive. Fruit ripens in early fall.

    We only have this tree on a semi-dwarf stock.

    Another European plum. Avoid Gage and Mirabelle, but any others would be fine.

  • Is this tree a good pollinator for empress plum trees?

    Yes, it should work fine.

  • Is the gras romanesc a good pollinator for Italian prune plum?

    Yes, though Italian Plums do not need pollination partners.

  • For pollinator, any euro plum?

    Pretty much, but note that Mirabelle, Damson, and Italian are considered poor pollinizers.

    4'-5' at the time of shipping

  • Our valley suffers late frosts When do these plums *bloom*? Early, Mid, or Late?

    Mid-Late and no where near as early as the Asian plums.
