Cydonia oblonga 'Ekmek'

A great choice for culinary uses, medium-size Ekmek (which means "bread" in Turkish) is the most popular quince in Western Turkey and new to American gardeners. Some sources even claim Ekmek can be eaten fresh off the tree! This cultivar has regularly produced large crops of juicy, yellow, pear-shaped fruit with creamy, yellow flesh at Raintree in the Pacific Northwest. Ekmek is self-fertile, disease resistant, cold hardy, and ripens in late summer. A must have for your garden - wherever you are!

At the turn of the 20th century almost every rural family had a fruiting quince tree they relied on for medicine, pectin, and fragrant, long-lasting fruits. The varieties we offer have delightful pineapple-like flavors. They are prized for cooking, jelly making, and adding to apple cider. Quince trees are self fertile and showy, with big white blossoms in late spring and unusual, fuzzy yellow fruits in fall.

The tree that arrived was bjgger than I expected

The quince tree that arrived was bigger than I expected. It was nearly 4 feet. I am used to plant stock that is closer to 2 feet.

It arrived in a rainy night. I managed to get it into the ground the next day. I am waiting for it to break dormancy.

Received dried tree

The tree was dried after 6 hot days travel with ups. But I still think it might be worth it to have it a chance. So I planted it as directed. Unfortunately, after 4 months, it was not able to recover back.

We do have a policy that covers any plant that has been delayed during shipping and arrives in poor condition. In the future, please reach out to us right away and we will help resolve the problem, and send you a new plant if needed. All of our plants are covered under the Raintree Guarantee, which extends until August 1st of the year you received your plant. Arrived in great shape

Arrived in great shape, and has some buds starting to grow, has only been in the ground like a 1.5 weeks, but seems to be doing just fine.

Never leafed out and died despite care, 4 out of 5 trees ordered last year died. All 5 never leafed out last year but some how one did this spring the rest were crispy twigs after winter dried them out

Arrived dead

Was sent to me dead and it never leafed out. I waited to see if it would break dormancy or push buds anywhere (past the refund period) so I will likely not get a refund either

Dormant

Tree arrived with large root system. It appeared to have been recently pruned. Completely dormant even though it was middle of May . A week has gone by after it was planted still no sign of life. Weather has been cool and rainy here in Pa. I live in hope

My tree never came out of dormancy

I bought it last year and planted on receipt. It never came out of dormancy and ended up being a wasted investment.

Ekmek Quince

My Quince arrived last week put it in the the next day. the tree arrived in good shape. The trunk is an inch and a half in diameter no spouts yet hoping soon.

Excellent condition on my bare root!!!

I received a healthy Ekmek Ayva( Quince ). I am originally from Turkiye so excited to receive this type of Quince. This is the best kind for fresh eating since I have this in my orchard in Turkiye will be nice to have it in my backyard in USA as well.
