Liberty Apple

The Dwarf variety Liberty apple tree has been raised in price by $5 since last year when I ordered it. :( It's also out of stock, though that may be due to seasonality. I suppose it's fine but I would have preferred they just rushed me out a new one free of charge since it's not my fault. I planted it as instructed, in a prominent spot only a few feet from the Columnar Apple I have shown a picture of in another review but for whatever reason it failed.

Finding the Liberty was challenging, but it came recommended by a youtuber who has inspired my mini-orchard, James Prigioni. Unfortunately, this particular tree, which had a central stock as thick as my thumb, did not awake from dormancy. It's too bad because it had a nice set of branches and it does have buds on it. However, the two other trees planted on the same day did work out.

I will patiently await for availability, though I may instead buy an Almata with the "Store Credit" I received as part of the warranty.

I give a 3 for neutrality. If I was going to compare Raintree Nursery to DIRECT GARDENING, I would give it a 5000 stars rating compared to that horrible website...

Planted our mini dwarf Liberty in April of 21. I wasn't excited about it like my other apple varieties, but it was a good price and seemed to have amazing disease resistance.
September of 24 and this tiny tree is loaded with large, beautiful fruit. The redder apples are very crisp, the flesh is a bright white, and sweet-tart. The apples left to mature longer turn a beautiful dark purplish hue and polish up BEAUTIFULLY. They are softer but so juicy and very sweet. I am a HUGE FAN. Ordering more for planting next spring! I included a picture of a store bought apple I had on hand for comparison.

The tree I received was in great shape and already had a great central leader structure! Almost all the limbs were already in good locations with good angles so very little pruning was needed. It's been three weeks since I planted it and it's just starting to bud out and open up. It looks great!

Thought I would give Raintree a try. Including shipping my order for 1 Liberty Apple was $72 and this is what I received. Not very happy with my order.

We received our Liberty apple tree a few weeks ago. It arrived in excellent condition and is healthy and blooming.

My Liberty Apple arrived perfectly! Couldn’t plant right away so I stored it as suggested. When I did plant it this past Saturday, I marveled at how perfectly shaped it is. A beautiful central leader with just the right amount of branches. She’s my first fruit tree and I can’t wait to help her grow.

This tree came packaged with care and was planted a few days after I received it. It looks very healthy and has very nice branch angles. You can tell this nursery takes pride in their trees and prunes them for the buyers success!

Very happy with "Raintree Nursery". I have purchased several fruit trees from them and they have always arrived in great condition and after planting, took right off. I will continue using "Raintree".

The tree was well hydrated, So exicited to see it establish itself.

Super healthy, branches are recovering from the hard pruning they had before they left. No flowering this year (wasn’t expecting it, but 2 others planted the same day did flower)

Unfortunately it's looking like out of our entire purchase order this year the apple is having a difficult go at leafing out.. waiting patiently to see what happens but the climbing rose, speckled nectarine and blue berry seem to be thriving at this point

Tree arrived in apparently good condition. Liked the branching pattern. Buds look like they are starting to swell, but it's too soon to expect much reaction as they it has been in soil for less than a week. Very hard to give a rating until growth starts, so I'm giving a 3 star based on initial appearance.

Arrived in great condition. I live in Vancouver, WA and this is the second dwarf apple I've purchased from Raintree. Always happy with product from Raintree and their customer service.

I pre-ordered two apple trees from Raintree Nursery and included instructions to notify me before they shipped them. A few months later, Raintree notified me as per my request and the trees arrived on time and in excellent condition. The roots were well hydrated and healthy while the branches were intact and protected from damage during the shipping. I also talked to the Raintree Nursery customer service on several occasions for advice on growing the trees. I have found them to be most knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. Not all climates are suitable to grow apple trees but with the quality trees and advice from Raintree Nursery, I believe my trees have an excellent chance of producing fruit. I would highly recommend Raintree Nursery to anyone!

I was so impressed with the way Raintree ships their 3-Tier espaliered Liberty apple trees! They arrived in beautiful condition and we were able to plant right away (zone 7). In just three days we are already seeing beautiful green leaves. I will keep you posted on how they grow, but we are very happy so far!

VERY healthy trees, arrived in perfect condition with large root balls and much more robust than any tree I have ever bought online or mail order. I was extremely impressed with the quality of these trees.

Loads up the branches every year. MUST thin fruit in spring or you will have lots of small apples and some broken branches.
