This special rose not only produces an abundance of large, very fragrant single red 2-3 inch flowers from summer through autumn, it is loaded with large tasty red hips. The foliage is deep green and disease resistant making these bushes, month after month, a collage of white, red and green. Grow as a thick spreading 6 foot tall hedge.

  • How many plants would be needed to fill in a hedge 60’ long? And do these thrive in coastal environments?

    Roughly 1 plant per 2 feet. They do spread, but are small to start.

  • Will they thrive in a east facing bank with lots of clay?

    Probably yes. Rugosa is a very tough plant that spreads aggressively and should adapt to your site given a short time.

  • How wide do these roses grow? Can I plant them this fall?

    As wide as they can spread and while they can be planted in the fall, they won't be shipped until spring.
