  • Does this variety produce fruit?

    It does, but it would not be considered "choice". Flowering quince fruits are mostly used in the creation of Ume, a Japanese traditional "plum" wine.

Remains to be seen but

In the spring I thought it would be nice to replace a spirea framing my back patio with a dwarf quince and discovered Raintree and ordered. Eventually got a notice that it would arrive in the mid-Fall. Not too late to plant here, but the spot was bare a whole summer and then it arrived…. See below. Like it was in a dark box without water for a month, and basically root stock… for that price I could have had a shrub in flower at a local nursery.
If it doesn’t survive the winter (50/50 chance, I’m nursing it), I’m getting money back.
