Prunus cerasus 'Bianco Rosato Di Piemonte'

Arriving from Italy we have the Bianco Rosato di Piemonte - a Marasca type cherry famously used as the original variety for maraschino cherries! Very flavorful, this nearly black, sweet-tart fruit is excellent for syrup and preserves.

To get the heaviest crops, plant with another pie cherry like Amarena Di Pescare for cross pollination.

Amazing introduction

People rave about the Italian Marasca cherries. Very exciting that Raintree has brought us these.

Quality

I have been an orchardist and landscaper for over 30 years. I purchase from Raintree because they are the only local nursery that has the varieties of trees that I want. That being said the quality of stock leaves a lot to be desired. I own a small orchard and cant afford to plant stock that requires decades to produce fruit for market. I understand that prices for nursery stock have to reflect the current economy but the size of the stock is not proportionately reflected. I expect larger trees for what I pay, especially when I go to the nursery to pick them up. I am fed up with purchasing trees that are seedings in 4" and gallon size pots when I want 3/4'- 1" stock bare root. I am not a rich Seattle business person I have decades of orchard and nursery experience and a working farmer. I am so disappointed and feel like I am being taken advantage of.
