Dainty and Tough! With a mature height of 2'-3', Cascade Carpet is significantly shorter than its species Gaultheria shallon. During spring, it produces beautiful urn-shaped white flowers, and in summer, the plant yields edible blue berries that are mildly sweet and dry easily. USPP #34,661, CPBRAF. Its evergreen leaves are leathery and used abundantly as filler in flower arranging.
Can be drought resistant once established. Prefers acidic soils. Offer afternoon shade in hotter climates.
