Fragaria x ananassa 'Ozark Beauty'

This "Beauty" is one tough cookie! Very hardy and easy to establish, this everbearer produces an unusual amount of runners as well as regular yields of large, fragrant, sweet berries all summer and into fall. Their luscious texture and red color throughout make them especially delicious for fresh eating and preserves. Shipped as 25 bareroot crowns.

Unusually cold-tolerant and great for Northern growers. Plant in ground or in containers, in light soil that is neutral or slightly acidic. Water regularly due to shallow root systems.

USDA Zone: 4-9

Grow Height:  1' or smaller (Groundcover)

Sun: Full Sun

Ripening Time: July - October

Ask a Question
  • Ozark Strawberry Bundle (2 packs) $33.98 ... is this for 50 total bare root plants? Because the SHOPPING CART states it is for only 25 plants at this price.

Yes. It's a quirk of the inventory system that is difficult to work around. You will get 50 plants total.

I hate to do this

Past purchases have been trees, always the best. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the strawberries.
each bundle was short, one had 20, the other had 22. If they were of a decent size I could have accepted that, but more than half in each bundle were about the size of a 4 leaf tomato seedling with a single hair root. I planted them the day after I got them, so far none of the seedling sized starts have made it. All of the larger starts ( none very big ) appear to have sprouted and are leafing out.
I love your trees but I'll pass on your strawberries

I am waiting for them to get ripe

I ordered two bundles of these strawberries. I got them both at the same time, planted them in the same bed in the same conditions. However, one bundle is lush and is growing quite well and the other bundle doesn’t look like any of them are going to live. I have no idea why there would be such a difference between one bundle and another, but there you go.
