Thorn has been popular for making perry since the 60's - the 1760's, that is! An antique variety first recorded Gloucestershire, UK. Thorn is a small tree with upright habit, that produces abundant crops of small yellow fruits that have a slight orange flush and some russet. The perry vintage is average to good with medium acid and low tannin.
