Everyone knows Apple Cider, but how many people have tasted its cousin, Perry? Cider pears are a thing of legend in their native land of England, where they originated in the small village of Hartpury, a part of Gloucester Abbey. Perry cider, made from mixing the juice of the hard and astringent "wyld peres" and cider apples, creates a unique beverage that is considered sweeter and more complex than apple cider alone.

Virtually unknown outside of England for hundreds of years, Perry is taking the world by storm in the 21st century! Now you can also be part of the Perry party with our Gloucester Select Perry Cider Pear Bundle (wow! What a mouthful!). Save 20% on our best-selling Perry Bundle!

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • What spacing is required between trees?

All varieties are grafted on a semi-dwarf rootstock, which will require around 15' - 20' of distance between planting.

  • Will this bundle pollinate each other?

Yes, that's how it was designed. All these perry pears will cross pollinate and provide pollen for each other.

  • Besides cider, are they good eating, cooking, or canning?

Tastes may vary, but generally no. Perry pears are heavy on tannins and have a poor texture for enjoying freshed or canned, but make an excellent sweeter-than-normal hard cider.
